The design theme centers on uniting the city’s morphology with the passive qualities of the waterfront, thereby promoting a rich pedestrian environment adjacent to the expansion of the San Diego Convention Center. The tripartite facade is punctured by a three-story arched portico that celebrates the lobby and provides south facing vistas to the marina and views to the north of the proposed Sixth Avenue Park.
The signature element of this development is the top-story Grand Hall — a copper clad barrel vault with matching pentafoil windows focusing on the Pacific Ocean and the horizon.
