The design parti takes its direction from the existing tower, translating its modernist aesthetic into a refined neo-traditional composition with a distinct base, shaft, and articulated top. The facade of the new slender tower makes reference to the flat iron buildings of the 19th century.
At street level, the new porte-cochere, registration lobby, and two-story pavilion structure, containing a ballroom and exhibit hall that are each 30,000 SF, serve as the connector of new and old in a harmonious manner.
