Principal Architect
David Priest received his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Civil Engineering degrees from the University of Minnesota. He is a licensed architect in the State of California, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture. He has more than twenty-five years of experience in all aspects of the practice of architecture.
Since joining M+C in 1994, Mr. Priest has been the senior project architect for the San Diego Hyatt Regency 750-room expansion at the Embarcadero; The Mark, a 32-story, 264-unit luxury condominium project; remodel and addition to St. Paul’s Cathedral and two 14-story housing buildings on adjacent cathedral-owned land; space planning and design for the 1996 Republican National Convention; award-winning Cedar Road Housing, a 70-unit project for low income families in Vista; the National City Adult Education Facility; and a 600-room expansion for the Marriott Hotel in San Diego. In 2003, the Corporate Officers of M+C elevated him to the position of Principal and Studio Director.
While associated with various architectural firms in San Diego, his project experience includes the San Diego Wyndham Hotel, the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, the Balboa Park Westin Hotel, the Scripps Molecular Biology Laboratory Addition in La Jolla, and the Pacific Trade Center in Los Angeles
